The Programs
We run all year around with weekly sessions in fall, winter and spring and camps during the summer and other school breaks. Sessions are usually between 8 and 12 weeks long, depending on when various holidays fall within the calendar year.
Our Progressive Skills Development Program is unique to Skateboard and Inline Skate School with badges awarded to each skater at the end of their session.
Skaters are divided into small groups based on skill level and each small group works with their own coach. A typical hour-long class is comprised of approximately 50 minutes of a structured lesson in a small group followed by 10 minutes of free skate. During free skate, skaters practice the skills and tricks they are learning. This portion of the class is essential to continued skills progression and the skaters really enjoy it!
You can choose from 1 or 2 hour classes which are typically run on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We recommend beginners and younger skaters start out with a 1 hour class.
Badges and awards are presented to skaters during the last class of the session. As well, at our indoor programs, a demonstration is held during the last class. During the “demo” each skater has an opportunity for a 1 minute solo run to show off their new skills and be cheered on by family and friends.
Our progressive skills development program incorporates colour-coded badges for each of the 8 skills levels:
